Search me…

Do your eyes see me?
look upon the one before you
see nothing but naked devotion
today as well as all the tomorrows we have.

Can you hear me?
press your ear upon my chest
the tattooing drumbeat will
forever be saying, I love you.

Will you touch me?
use your hands to know me
brush away the layers I show the world
reveal me as I am inside:  simply yours.

I want you to taste me.
brush your lips to mine
be filled with passion sweeter than honey
scorching like the white hot flares of the sun.

Do you recognize my scent?
Let the fragrance of our love
and my essence surround you
winding through all that you are.

Know me…

let your soul, the breath of life
recognize me and be content
in this sea of our
creation.

trust your body to mine
let darkness never hide who I am
know me even there
forever.

let your beautiful mind
all areas of intellect and reason
accept the fullness of my devotion

to the end of our age.
...ok...I know, I know...I've got "in love" issues.
BUT the person that I wrote this for (actually...I don't know her, so...) knows love.
Enjoy people.

"Will you touch me?

These lines are simply the best of this poem. They speak of a longing for intimacy and love, are timid and shy but with an undercurrent of bravery and twinkling of eye.

"trust your body to mine
let darkness never hide who I am
know me even there
forever." -

Again, with such simple words, there is so much left unsaid as well as revealed.
Both of these verses shine, stand out and strengthen the poem. True beauty.
