the Taste of loveI wonder, how does love taste?

The sort of love found with a lover,
a lover of your body and your heart.

Is it sweet?  Does it flow and coat like honey?
Is it spicy?  Hot and potent and unforgettable.
Is it bitter?  Does it eventually spoil and leave an awful aftertaste?
Is it rich? Cloying and overwhelming, needing dilution.
Is it sour? Can it twist your insides and still leave you wanting more?
Is it juicy? Bursting with flavor, overflowing with goodness.

I ask because, truly…I don't know.
I've never quenched my thirst from the well of love.
I've never experienced its flavor on my tongue,
fed to me by the hand of a lover.
Soul TrainI heard talk, when I was young, as they watched me dance.  They'd say, "See.  This is what happens when kids watch too much Soul Train."  Personally, I think I was born this way and for them to watch me dance made them a mite…uncomfortable.

Music and I have a unique relationship. Intimate.
Not intimate like new lovers, getting acquainted, learning one another other.  
No.  We are like lovers of old, lovers that belong to one another.
Lovers that recognize each other,
  in the dark
  in the light
  eyes open
  eyes closed.
It is just that way.

And heaven help
InsomniaShe is a spiteful witch dividing me from the comforting grasp of Morpheus.

A great dark, deep lake separates us.
As tired bleeds into exhaustion
my eyes close.
The comfort of the lake awaits.

I dive into that cool darkness.
I like not having to breathe here.
I swim, the muscles of my mind
coursing though the murky fathom.

The motions of my hands mimic each other
as they surge forward slicing and dividing the water
my arms pulling great quantities back, along my sides
and toward my feet.  They are in perfect sync.

But I exhaust myself in this swimming motion
my mind moving past thoughts of all kinds
wishes, regrets, de
Untenable ThreadI feel as if some untenable thread of the universe has
sought
seized
and
damned me.

Tightly wound, I quiver;
Internally bound, I simmer.

This ache that pools between my thighs
begs and
pleads,
clamors and
demands
to
be
sated.
AcceptedFrom across the room,
they will look dark behind her glasses.

A few steps closer,
and you will confirm dark and second with brown;
her eyes are brown.

If she lets you close,
so close that you breathe the same air,
you will look into her dark, brown eyes
and realize you were wrong;
her eyes aren't brown at all.

When you are that close,
close enough to smell her subtle floral perfume,
to make note of the tiny freckles sprinkling her nose and cheeks,
to see the fine lines crowding alongside her eyes,
  a testament to laughter and to smiles and the passage of time,
you will see something more than brown.
