The LineFor most of our existence,
there is a line that divides

Objects, materials, people, actions of this life
easily
fall
To one side or the other,
if logic is invited.

But there is a place
where the line becomes,
not blurred, but obliterated.

Without the line,
Needs war with wants.
They
intertwine
merge
plunge
melt together
combust.
Logic is absent
as you live in that moment.

And it's only a matter of time-

An OdeShe despises being naked,
stripped of her outer glory.
She trembles, arms shaking;
she is exposed.

The elements sense her despair
and they draw in close.

The wind breathes gently,
a calming whisper.

The sun shines generously,
its heat upon her.

The earth rises up tightly,
enclosing in comfort.

The morning dew just cries along,
as good friends are want to do.

So she settles in to wait,
trying to find contentment
in this season
of her life.

In the waiting,
she strives to find:

peace
calm
serenity
tranquility
grace
and purpose.

Until spring arrives
and again
she will be in bloom.
Ephipany End-keep for commentsDoubts flood my mind and I struggle to find the true path amid the chaos of this place.  The moon has risen higher to illuminate the beach lovers, cushioned on sand and a scarlet blanket.  A slight shift of motion catches my eye and I drop to my knees in recognition of my newest visitor.  

My legs soak up the cold from the floor, but my arms are filled with the warm steadfast love of my first friend.  I sink my hands deep into his white dirty coat and he presses his damp nose into my cheek.  Ahh…I learned the basic lessons of friendship here.  Roles of defender, confidant, and
The EpiphanyI open my eyes to overwhelming darkness, alive with unseen motion.  My eyes adjust to the lack of light to see slight shadows moving around me and an iridescent spark coming from some place below me.  Winding stairs beacon me to them and I obey.

I delve deep, moving down the cut-stone stairs, all the while watching flashes of light swirl along the sides of the stairway, veiled by a thick impenetrable curtain.  The spark becomes a glimmer and the glimmer leads to a shut door, with a brilliant radiance showing around the seams.  I run my hands against the surface and realize…I have to decide.&#
Second ThoughtsOne day, I'll run naked
through a field of wild flowers.
(or maybe not…I forgot about tics and bees.  I don't want to get Lyme Disease or stung somewhere tender!)

One day, I'll drive a convertible 95 miles an hour
down an open road, the wild wind in my hair.
(well…that is a high rate of speed.  I better not, I may get a flat tire and crash.)

One day, I'll greet a stranger with a kiss.
(wait…what if he isn't just a stranger, but strange?  Murderer strange.  Cross this one off.)

One day, I'll buy a 300 dollar pair of shoes,
and wear them and nothing else for my lover.

wantingDistract me.
Make me forget.
Give me something to drown in,
   so remembering doesn't hurt so much.

Music isn't loud enough…
Food isn't sweet enough…
The sun isn't bright enough…
   to chase it away.

Just this once,
I don't want to let it have its way with me.

So…
make me forget.
I know it's only temporary.

Give me something to drown in.

Ha ha! Well now... maybe I haven't really got that much to say for myself :shrug:

Definitely not going hungry. Going mad, maybe, but not hungry.

Now, on a serious note... I cannot, for the life of me, get a decent portrait shot, no matter what I try. I'm not just being needlessly self-deprecating here, but what on earth do you do when the subject matter is so unappealing? I'm quite serious...

humm...ooookay. there is a story there, for sure. :) it's okay. do what you need to do.

okay. well. I'm not sure 'unappealing' is quite appropriate, dear.
But you can try various things to 'alter' your photo.
have you tired black and white?
if you do that and alter the brightness, you can "blow it out" a little and your features look a bit different.

how about you be brave and upload one into your sta.sh. link me and I will download and edit it and then send it back to you.

It's so nice to know someone who knows what they are doing and is willing to help out a very green upstart - You have no idea how much I appreciate it, and I will certainly give everything you've suggested a try.

Well, now... that's a very serious offer, and again, I can't thank you enough for your kindness. I shall... try... to be brave. I may need a little bit to get myself used to the idea, but it's awfully kind of you, Jessie, and I can't help but think I'd be a fool to pass up the offer. :hug:

I am no expert. But I do know about altering features to make someone (me) LOOK BETTER!!! (lol)
All I cam promise is I would do something fun and creative.
