Sunrise Morning

This sunrise morning
whilst walking in the orchard
   I thought of you.

Turning a sweet smelling corner
I found you lingering there
  silently waiting.

slightly out of focus
slightly out of reach

sides of you open, unfurling
while others remain locked tight

pieces of you shrouded in shadows
while others boldly face the light

always beautiful, you are,
one that I call my friend.

While I know it is hard to see
yourself through these eyes, try.
   I thought of you.

UnexploredI have never aspired
   to be a woman of mystery

I am
     just a woman

   the person I am
   the things I want
   the mechanisms that make me me

are clearly seen in my writing and photography
the act of knowing is uncomplicated
   but perhaps not simple
irregardless
   it all waits for discovery

I am not hiding
   (but you have to look)
I will answer your questions
   (but you have to ask)
I will tell

What do you see?there are things you cannot see
while your eyes are open
  I learned this lying in the grass

there are things we don't see
with our eyes wide open
  I learned this sitting at your feet

there are truths we don't recognize
that stare us in the face
  I realized this
when
you
walked
away

some things shouldn't be taught
some things can't be unlearned
   I discovered this (when I remembered)
to
believe
in
me

Divided SoulDoctors annoy me
  with their false assurances,
patting hands
  and non-answers.

Annoyance borders on contempt
  as  the situation shifts…
Disdain drains and covers me
  as the doctor's voice fades to gray.

I get lost in my head,
my thoughts revealing
   weak things
   empty places
   lonely dreams
      echoing

Plastering on a false smile,
  I leave with more appointments,
more questions than answers-
  but that unknown isn't what plagues me.

You see, I am caught.

I will be rocks, I will be water.
I will leave this to my daughter:
lift your head up in the wind.
When you feel yourself grow colder
wrap the night around your shoulders
and I will be with you even then
even when I cannot see your face anymore.

If I had one wish for all people, it would be to embrace the fact that we are only here for a moment...we are like a vapor in the expanse of "eternity."
Someone recently said to me, "we each are born with an expiration date, unique and unknown." He spoke the truth and I wonder what the world would look like if we lived that truth.

Knowing that we must love and live and give and care as much as we humanly can, because we are guaranteed nothing but the fact that we will die. So shouldn't we learn and grow and be positive change? Vapors are temporary!!

I guess this all comes from recent stuff and knowing...my date is probably going to be earlier than most people my age in this time. Bah! Anyway...

...may 2013 awaken in each viewer the fortitude to look at the world and see. See how vital we are in this short time we have been given. And then do...play! love! give! work! write! _______ (you fill in the blank). Enjoy...
